OUR COMMITMENTS
The future of equestrian sports depends on one essential requirement: combining passion, performance, and absolute respect for the horse. Equestrian Action Group is firmly committed to defending this model, built on expertise, rigor, and openness.
-
Preserving equestrian sport and its Olympic place▼
We believe in a modern, exemplary, and sustainable sport — one worthy of remaining at the heart of the Olympic movement.
-
Ensuring best practices, everywhere and for everyone▼
From breeders to top-level riders, from coaches to officials, we promote high standards in equestrian practice — always demanding, always respectful, never compromising on welfare.
-
Taking a firm stand against mistreatment▼
Wherever horses suffer, our voice is raised. We reject any practice that compromises their physical or emotional integrity.
-
Providing transparent, science-based information▼
Trust is built on clarity. That’s why we share validated, accessible information, grounded in research and field experience.
-
Engaging in dialogue with all stakeholders — even critics▼
We believe in the strength of constructive debate: riders, trainers, scientists, institutions, the general public, and even opposing voices must all be heard.
WHY WE EXIST
Equestrian sports are today at a crossroads. Under the scrutiny of society and the media, our practices are being observed, analyzed, and at times criticized. The notion of Social Licence to Operate (SLO) — the social acceptance without which no activity can endure — has become a decisive issue for equestrianism, particularly in its sporting and Olympic dimensions.
If we want to preserve our place within the Olympic family and continue sharing this millennia-old story between humans and horses, we must prove that performance and respect for the horse are not contradictory, but inseparable.
A sustainable equestrian sport, where the horse is recognized as a respected and happy athlete — a partner to humans, not merely a tool for performance.
A world where passion, sporting excellence, and deep respect for the animal move forward hand in hand.
Equestrian Action Group works to secure the future of equestrian sport by placing the horse at the heart of every decision.
We promote best practices, provide accurate and rigorous information, and defend horse welfare at every stage: from training to competition, from leisure riding to international excellence.
Welfare: Making respect for the horse a daily standard, never an option.
Scientific Rigor: Relying on research and evidence to improve practices.
Transparency: Communicating openly, even on sensitive issues.
Dialogue: Engaging with all stakeholders — riders, trainers, officials, critics, and the general public — to move forward together.
OUR ACTIONS
Our commitments only have meaning if they translate into visible, concrete actions that benefit the horse, the sport, and society as a whole. Equestrian Action Group works on multiple levels: reflection, support, dissemination of best practices, and open dialogue with the public.
We have built a network of experts and enthusiasts from the worlds of science, sport, and the equestrian sector. This platform for reflection and proposals allows us to:
- Analyze existing practices,
- Draw inspiration from scientific research,
- Develop concrete recommendations,
- Anticipate necessary changes to ensure horse welfare and the future of equestrian sport.
- Supporting initiatives from the FEI, national federations, and other actors when they align with our values.
- Proposing new practices adapted to real-world conditions.
- Assisting riders, trainers, officials, and organizers in the continuous improvement of their methods.
- Ensuring that scientific research and field experience come together in applicable solutions.
We recognize that the perspective of the public and of critics is essential. That is why EAG:
- Explains equestrian practices transparently,
- Addresses legitimate concerns,
- Listens to critical voices to enrich the debate,
- Demonstrates by example that equestrianism can be both demanding and respectful.
Many leading figures from sport, science, and civil society have already expressed their support for our mission.
These voices strengthen our legitimacy and show that the cause we uphold transcends borders and disciplines.
